Brandon, Chris, Wes & Stephen

TOM: Brandon (keyboards, drum machine), Chris (guitar), Wes (bass) and Stephen (guitar) started this fine Open Mic Night at The Camp with one incredible jam session.  After a long Phishy "Black Leather," they just plain jammed for a while. It was incredible!

DICK:  Brandon, Chris, Wes & Stephen suck! I want real drums!
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY: All of these guys looked pretty cool!

Dr. Bill, Erin, Chris & Wes
TOM:  Dr. Bill (vocals), Erin (acoustic), Chris (guitar) and Wes (keyboards and drum machine?)After a pretty cool jam, they played a cover of Johnny Cash doing Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" and another JC tune, "Ring of Fire."  Dr. Bill and crew did an excellent version of my favorite original "Bad Chemicals," which is the only song I know that mentions dopamine.   They finished with a couple covers - "The Watchtower" and "House of the Rising Sun."  Dr. Bill says "I love playing covers.  Screw you Tom, Dicky & Hairy."

DICK:  Dr. Bill, Erin, Chris & Wes suck!   Is Wes lost?
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  These folks looked cool, too.  Wes looked right at home on keyboards.

Tipping Holly
TOM:  Tipping Holly is Will Montgomery (rhythm acoustic), Nick Adamson (mandolin), Brandi Burns (vocals) and Amanda Garlich - absent (violin).  They did a wonderful folksy set of fine tunes, including "Route 66," "Lights Down," "Fill the Cup," and "Love Song."   While Tipping Holly was not the usual Open Mic Night fare, the crowd loved them!

DICK:  Tipping Holly sucks!  What in the name of Allah is a mandolin doing at The Camp?
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  These guys looked fine, especially the lead singer, whose stage photo didn't turn out.  Here she is relaxing at a table.

Smitty, Ashley & Dustin,
TOM: Smitty (acoustic), Ashley (vocals) and Dustin (acoustic) performed for the first time together at Open Mic Night with a great set of originals and covers.  They started with a couple of Ashley originals "Nothin Inside" and "Render Null."  After "77 (My Way to Heaven)," they did a rousing cover of Skid Row's "18 and Life."  Ashley says they "are a big circle of love. Smitty likes boobies. Dustin likes Ashley.  Ashley likes beer.  Beer likes us all!"  I like all of them.

DICK:  Smitty, Ashley & Dustin suck!
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Smitty looked great in his Floyd shirt.   Dustin looked like he was having a great time.  Ashley looked hot, but a little blurry.

Leon
TOM: Barefoot Leon (vocals, acoustic) and Baxter (vocals) played an excellent set of covers, including "Stray Cat Strut" and Neil Young's "Hey, Hey, My, My."  Then, they dedicated one to the Krystle Fan Club - Dylan's "Forever Young."  Baxter sang along.

DICK:  Leon sucks!
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Leon looked normal tonight.  I missed his "thug" or "Bob" look.

Krystle
TOM: Krystle returned to The Camp with her wonderful and entertaining acoustic and vocal act.  After a couple of covers - Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Life By the Drop" and Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee,"   she did an original "The Man Song."  That one always gets the crowd going. If she would send me the words, I'd like to put them here.  It's quite a song!

DICK:  Krystle sucks!  "The Man Song" sucks bad.
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Krystle looks hot!

Brandon
TOM:  Brandon returned to Open Mic Night with his indescribable vocal fucked up vocals and perfect acoustic guitar performance.   you've got to see Brandon to understand.  He rocks!  The crowd always loves him.

DICK:  Brandon sucks!  What is he saying?
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  As always, Brandon looked fine.

Dirty 30s
TOM:  The Dirty 30s, less the drummer graced The Camp with their presence once again with one of the best sets I've seen.  Smitty (acoustic, vocals), Jeb (bass, vocals), and Bubba (guitar) played a set of originals and covers, including my favorite sad original "When the Bottle's Gone."  That tune rocks!  Someone said "They are all hookers!  But, they fuckin' rock!"  Some lyrics from an original are "I gotta girl who don't want me around.  She says fuck you!"  Unfortunately, I've got a girl like that, too.

DICK:  Dirty 30s suck!
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  I like Smitty's cap.

Bob & Leon
TOM:  Leon returned to the stage to help Bob Camp with The Church's "Under the Milky Way" and a couple of other tunes. It was getting late.  So I missed the names of the rest of the songs.  But, they were most excellent. Leon adds a lot.

DICK:  Bob & Leon suck!
Oh.... And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Where was the photographer?

The Crowd:
The crowd seemed to enjoy the show more than usual.  There are some hot looking women at The Camp!
