Jeremy, Crowd: CampCampCampCamp
TOM:  Jeremy Bratton  http://yermej.dyndns.org started this rainy open mic night with fine acoustic and vocal covers.  Jeremy started with "Psychokiller" by the Talking Heads and "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode as covered by Johnny Cash.  He continued with Simon & Garfunkel's "America,"  Radiohead's "Karma Police," The Oatkast's "Hey Ya," Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" as covered by Willie Nelson, and a couple of Talking Heads tunes, "Don't Worry About the Government" and "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)."  Jeremy says he "needs more action packed songs."

DICK: Jeremy sucks!  Willie Nelson covering Cindy Lauper has got to suck!
Oh....  And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Jeremy looked more casual this time.  I still think he could use a couple of ladies "woo, wooing" in the background.

Tattoo, Crowd: CampCampCampCamp
TOM:  Karl Ketchum is Tattoo, AKA Dick Pokem, of Tatmandu Tattoo.  Karl wanted to "thank George & Johnny of Black Oak Arkansas for jammin' with me and George for keeping one arm still, at least while it was getting tattooed."  Karl was in top form as he did unique covers of Neil Young's "Down By the River" and John Prine's "Illegal Smile."  Karl said "this is the first time I've made it to the 12th fret in public."  Tattoo finished with a "Happy Love Song" and that "Texas Song," which Karl "accidentally played for George."

DICK: Tattoo sucks!  Why couldn't he drag the boys from Black Oak Arkansas to open mic night?
Oh....  And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Tattoo's felt hat and glasses almost made him look sophisticated! Entertaining!

Barefoot Leon & Baxter, Crowd: CampCampCampCamp
TOM:  Barefoot Lean & Baxter brought their fine acoustic guitar and vocals to The Camp.  Leon started with Neil Young's "My, My, Hey, Hey" Trashettes "I Like My Women a Little On the Trashy Side," Van Morison's "Wild Nights," and the Dead's "Friend of the Devil."  Baxter joined in with a big yawn when Leon sang "I just might get some sleep tonight."  Leon continued with a love medley and finished with one of my favorite Violent Femmes tunes "Dance, MF, Dance."
Leon returned to the stage at the end of the evening for some serious "mean" guitar banging, starting with Jimmy Buffett's "Pencil Thin Moustache," and Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues."  Then, Leon played "a song you can make up your own words to," a wonderful instrumental 12 bar blues.  Leon ended open mic night with covers of some oldies - "Little Red Riding Hood," some Wishbone Ash, and Crocodile Rock.

DICK:
Barefoot Leon sucks!  Baxter just licks his nads.
Oh....  And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Leon is playing guitar, singing, looking and entertaining better every week.  The camera loves Baxter.

Matt, Crowd: CampCampCampCamp
TOM: Matt Irwin, of Roadside Memory fame, brought his keyboard, but wasn't able to use it due to a wiring problem.  So, he improvised on the acoustic guitar.  "I put on my guitar wings.  that's for sure."  Matt started his fine originals and covers with Ethereal's "The Eyes of a Sinner," his own "Midget Hero," and a Roadside Memory tune - "I'm Not a Sinner."  Matt sang a "song I don't know if anybody has ever heard" - Tenacious D's "Fuck Her Gently."  Matt continued with "Through the Looking Glass," "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye and another Roadside Memory tune - "Separate Ways."  He ended with a couple of originals, "Bad Moon Rising" and "Three Stones."

DICK: Matt sucks!  I miss his cousin and the rest of the old band.
Oh....  And, death to America!

HAIRY:  Matt looked fine.
