Leon  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Leon "Willie Bob" is the country version of Leon.  He borrowed Bob's guitar and started the evening off with fine covers of George Strait's "I Ain't Ever Seen No One Like You," the Confederate Railroad with the Trashettes "I Like My Women a Little On the Trashy Side," and Marshall Tucker Band's "Fire on the Mountain."  Leon said "Next time I'll bring my own ax."

DICK:  Leon sucks! He needs a dog or something.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Leon looked fine.  But, he seemed a little uptight in this photo.
Leon

Bob  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM: Bob Camp, or Camparooni, or Campanella, or Camparama, filled a gap between performers with a couple of his own songs and a few covers.  Bob's vocals and acoustic guitar were perfect on his own creations "Crazy Mind" and "Listen to the Voice."  He did excellent covers of Hank's "Hey Good Looking," Tony Joe White's "Rainy Night in Georgia Cape Girardeau," and Neil Young's "Down By the River."

DICK: Bob sucks! Rainy Night in Cape Girardeau?
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Bob knows how to put on a show! He looked and sounded great when there was a lull in the action.  That's what he does best.
Bob

Akira  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM: Akira Kanzawa started with a fantastic rendition of John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman's "My One and Only Love."  Bob joined him on vocals for a bossa nova tune "Shadow of Your Smile," a jazz tune "Stella By Starlight," and Sinatra's "Autumn Leaves."  I've never heard Bob's old guitar sound better than when it's in Akira's hands.

DICK: Akira sucks!  Not really.  That just seemed like the thing to say.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Akira is so good he doesn't need to dress up.  I like his trademark head wear.
Akira

Jeremy Bratton  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Jeremy Bratton yermej@gmail.com graced the Camp with his unique mellow covers of punk rock tunes, including the Talking Head's "Psychokiller." Jeremy did wonderful versions of two Johnny Cash covers. He played an excellent cover of one of the weirdest songs I've ever heard - Johnny Cash covering Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt." Jeremy did JC's cover of DePeche Mode's "Personal Jesus."  The music was good, but very strange. Jeremy also played Simon and Garfunkel's "America."

DICK:  Jeremy sucks! Johnny Cash is dead.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Jeremy needs a couple of scantily clad chicks to sing and dance to his cool songs.
Jeremy

Toby McCrawdad  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM: Toby McCrawdad and partners Bobby-Lee Casper and Flim-Flam Sam Jobill put on an amazing all American show, a little like the German Kitties.  They performed their own "Get an American Name," "America Will Rise," and "Blood on the Flag."  Toby raised the patriotic spirit in the crowd.  Some were waving American flags!  Toby signed autographs for the crowd.  He even gave me a signed douche.  I'll treasure it forever.  These guys are plumb nuts!

DICK:  Toby McCrawdad sucks!  We don't need no country music around these parts.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: This band looked great!  I like the patriotic hat, eagle shirt, and long-haired guitar player.  They didn't just sing some crazy songs.  They put on a show!

Cuzins  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Ashley Irwin and cousin Matt Irwin are what the Rev. Bob aptly named Cuzins.  These folks play so well together they have got to be related.  After playing several songs written by Matt, including "Come Closer," they did a rocking cover of Journey's "Separate Ways."  Matt says "I am happy about our first performance in over a month, although I had to poop the entire time.  I was very lucky cause every time I farted it was on beat.  p.s. Little Bo Peep ate all her sheep. -- That bitch just ain't right."  Ashley says "Good night...really feelin' the music...miss the band.  Let's just call the night 'Roadside Memory LEFTOVERS THAT CAN ROCK!' : ) p.s. Jack be nimble. Jack be quick.  Jack stumbled over and burned his dick!"  I don't know.  These folks sound great.  But, they're a little odd like Toby McCrawdad.

DICK: Cuzins suck!  Why in the world did they break up Roadside Memory?  That band had it all!  What's that smell?
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Ashley is just plain hot in her mini-skirt.  What in the world are those squirrels doing on Matt's shirt?

Kitties  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM: germankitties@yahoo.com  http://www.geocities.com/germankitties  The Kitties brought their entertaining musical comedy act to the Camp all the way from Germany.  Their "Saturday Night Live does Ramstein" unique brand of show is most excellent.  Songs included "I Do," "Tears in Heaven," and and improved version of "I Am Pushing Your Buttons."  Some of the lyrics are crazy!  This is one act you have to see to understand.

DICK: Kitties suck!  I don't get it.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Once again, the Kitties looked great and put on a show.  Wunderbar!
Kitties  Kitties  Enjoying the Kitties

Jeremy Jones  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM: Jeremy Jones performed a couple of excellent vocal and acoustic guitar songs.  His cover of "Suite Madame Blue" by Styx rocked!  I enjoyed his own "Deception."  Jeremy says "It was fun!  But, I have a small memory problem with the words."  He did the words just fine.

DICK: Jeremy Jones sucks!  What is this?  American patriotism night?
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Jeremy looked fine, but a little out of focus.
Jeremy Jones

Brandon  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Brandon Glenn graced the Camp with his fine guitar and made up as you go lyrics.  Kind of like a modern day Lou Reed.  Brandon is entertaining as hell!  He says "You heard me play.  So now, don't tell the cops!"

DICK: Brandon sucks!  What in the world do his lyrics mean?
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: Brandon looked like he was having a great time.  The crowd did too.
Brandon

Ashley  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Ashley Irwin returned to the stage solo with her incredible vocals and Bob's acoustic guitar.  She performed fine songs written by her cousin Matt, including "Living Your Life," "Come Closer/Nothing Inside" (remix), "Let's Get It On." Matt joined her for "Separate Ways," her theme song.  I can't hear that tune enough.

DICK: Ashley uh, er...  What was I saying?
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: It doesn't get any better than this.
Ashley Ashley Ashley

Akira, Bob & Brandon  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Akira Kanzawa returned to the stage to play "My Heart with Song.  The Rev. Bob Camp and Brandon Glenn joined him for a couple of rocking songs.  But, I forgot what they played.  (Bob, help me out here.)

DICK: Akira, Bob & Brandon suck!  I'll think of a reason why in a minute........
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: These guys look like a rock band.  Excellent!
Akira & Bob

Leon & Baxter  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  A much more relaxed Leon returned to the stage for a Cajun Jam with his handsome and faithful friend Baxter.  Leon sang "Cajun Love Song" by Leon Russell.  Uh... Leon does Leon?  It was great!  Baxter gave his moral support to Van Morrison's "Wild Nights."

DICK: Leon & Baxter suck!  This show is going to the dogs.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: What's up with Baxter's eyes?
Leon & Baxter Baxter

Leon & Brandon  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Brandon joined Leon with a truly incredible cover of Neil Young's "Hey, Hey, My, My."

DICK: Leon & Brandon suck!  Neil Young sucks.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: What can I say?  They rocked.

Ashley, Matt, Sarah & Leon  Crowd: DanDanDanDan
TOM:  Matt, Ashley and Sarah joined Leon for a jam session of covers and Matt's songs.  I'm a little fuzzy on the names of these songs.  My notes say "Bury Me Alive," "Shit Balls," "Love Will Find a Way," "Come Closer," and Journey.  This was young Sarah's first time at open mic.  She did fine.

DICK: Ashley, Matt, Sarah & Leon suck!  Bah.  Humbug.
Oh.... And, death to America!

Hairy: These guys looked great.  Check out the smiles on Ashley and Sarah.  A good time was had by all!
Ashley & Sarah  Matt  Happiness Is ....

The Crowd  DanDanDanDanDanDanDanDanDanDan
TOM:  The crowd tonight really enjoyed the show!  This was one of the best open mic nights, ever.  And, it was a birthday party, too.  Christina (in red) turned uh, er
..... 18! today.
Good Times!  Brandon enjoying the show. Woo Hoo!
