Justin
Crowd:

TOM: I was running late and just caught the end of Justin's acoustic
version of heavy metal guitar tunes. He rocked.
Justin left before I could get more info. I think new guys could
profit from sticking around for the other acts. Why play and
leave when you could hear experienced artists and fantastic jam
sessions among a friendly crowd of mostly musicians?
DICK: Justin sucks! He needed to be plugged in.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Justin looked like an average guy. He could use some
kind of gimmick, like a bow tie, hat, or anything to make him stand out
in the crowd.
Jake
Herzog
Crowd:

TOM: Jake performed an outstanding one man show. His "loop"
act is similar to Kellar Williams. He played or sang a note
or two, which looped over and over. Then, he added another
note to the loop, and another, and another.... Toward the
end, it sounded like an entire band. His version of the
Beatles' "Rocky
Raccoon" was
incredible. It sounded like ALL of the Beatles were on
stage. I couldn't believe my eyes that only one dude was
playing! He played
Bobby
McFerrin's
"Don't Worry, Be Happy" and a
Steve
Miller
tune.
DICK: Jake Herzog sucks! If I wanted to see someone play with himself,
I'd watch porn.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: I hope this guy finds a gig that pays so he could
afford some shoes. : )
Andrew
& Jake
Crowd:

TOM: Andrew & Jake performed fine acoustic guitar and banjo
versions of
Tom Petty &
the Heartbreakers "Last Dance
with Mary Jane," Sublime's "I Smoked Two Joints," and John Lennon's
Working Class
Hero. These guys rock!
DICK: Andrew & Jake suck! What would Allah think of their
apparent preoccupation with the evil weed?
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: I like the tie-died shirt! It kind of "fit"
Sublime's
tune.
Jeremy
Wolfe Crowd:

TOM:
jwolfe@bigrivertelephone.com
This was Jeremy's first time at open mic night. He performed
a voice and guitar version of
Semisonic's
"Falling" and
Glycerine
by Bush. We look forward to seeing Jeremy again with more tunes.
DICK: Jeremy sucks! He quit after only 2 songs. He
needs to learn more tunes.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Jeremy looked like an average guy, too. He
could use some kind of gimmick to make him stand out in the crowd.
Jeremy Crowd:

TOM:
yermej@gmail.com
Jeremy is a veteran open mic performer who, in the words of the Rev.
Dr. Camp, plays "beautiful mellow covers of punk rock songs."
He performed "This is What You Get" and
Talking Heads
tunes. He is a very good acoustic guitar player who puts on a
good, relaxed show.
DICK: Jeremy sucks! Punk rock ain't the same without a band of
"freaks."
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Jeremy looks like an average Joe. He needs
purple hair, piercings, or something to make him look more punk.
Nick
Parsons
Crowd:

TOM: Nick sang and played the guitar very
well. He covered
Ryan
Adams songs with incredible
lyrics. One went "Screw all my friends. They're all
full of shit." That's deep. Another started with
"
English
girls are pretty when they play guitar."
Nice!
DICK: Nick sucks! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: This is another performer who needs a special "look"
to make him memorable.

email:

The Kitties graced The Camp again with their special kind of German
rock humor. They are Hans Peter, Von Peter, Johaan Peter, and
Jan Heinrich Peter. The Kitties performed an improved version
of "
I
am Pushing Your Buttons,"
"Streets of Philadelphia," and "
Calculating."
You've got to see them to believe it. This is entertainment
at its finest.
DICK: The Kitties suck! These guys are a bunch of Dicks!
Er,... I mean Peters.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: I really enjoyed the new light show, although OSHA
might frown on it. Once again their, er... uh... choreography
was hilarious.
Jam
Session
Crowd:

TOM: Jen, Joshua, and Josh of
Mojo Filter,
Landon Liest of Brother Booth, Dana McReynolds from Los Vegas, and Bob
Camp played an amazing jam session. They performed A Whole
Lot of Love, Whiskey Man, and
Clapton's
Crossroads. Jen's vocals, especially on Whiskey Man are
fantastic! These guys jammed! Three screamin' guitars,
drums and Jen. It doesn't get any better than this. Friends
like Dana are
what make Bob Camp's open mic night unique.
DICK: The Jam Session sucks! This isn't Beale St.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Check out Joshua's new flying V.
TOM: Landon Liest of Brother Booth performed a fantastic vocal and
acoustic guitar version of "Redefined & Revived" and "Ain't No
Sunshine." His fingers moved so fast they were a
blur. Great guitar!
DICK: Landon sucks!
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Landon also needs something to make him stand out in the
crowd.
Walter
Crowd:

TOM: Walter Pollack is a regular open mic performer who is worth coming
back for. "Walt isn't the Disney you think of.
Quite the opposite, with a rage that is subdued. Walter
quietly sets the tone of Punk today." He says "I'm looking
for people to play with so I don't have to play and sing at the same
time. So, come on down to The Camp. Let's
jam!" You heard him. Come on out to The Camp next
week!
DICK: Walter sucks! Punk sucks. Disney sucks!
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Walter needs a Mohawk, green hair, or something to
make him look like a Punk dude.
Walter
& Chris
a private show
TOM: After Walter played and Bob turned up the lights, it was about
time to go back to the camper. Walter sat down at a table
with Chris Young, a fan, and me. After some interesting
conversation, Walter and Chris broke out into a spontaneous version of
Willie Nelson's
"
Always
on My Mind." It was
cool! These guys should've been on stage for everyone to
enjoy. This is another reason The Camp is a great place to
spend Tuesday nights. It seems everyone in the crowd is a
musician.
DICK: Walter & Chris suck! Why couldn't they be on
stage?
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: These guys looked like they were having a good
time. That's all that matters. Check out their
subdued smiles!
