Zack
Crowd:

TOM: Zack started off
The Camp's open mic night with his rendition of
several RadioHead tunes. His unplugged version of
True Love
Waits was excellent. He can sing and play that guitar!
One
of the old Rev. Dr's in the crowd said "I can't believe that some 18
year old kid is playing a song I remember as an oldie."
DICK: Zack sucks! If I wanted to hear RadioHead I'd put in a
CD.
He can play the guitar better than he can sing.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: Nice hat!
The
Otto Modest Crowd:

TOM: The Otto Modest is Josh Evans, Aaron Schafer, Ross Martin, Collin
Giles, and Jason Gregory. They played The Wicked and Hot
&
Hot.
DICK: The Otto Modest sucks! What kind of a name is that?
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY:
Kitties
Crowd:

TOM: Email germankitties@yahoo.com
I don 't even know how to start to describe this trio. I guess you
could call it German
rock humor, or Saturday Night Live does Ramstein. You either
"get it" or you don't. It was real odd. But, it
jammed!?!?!? I enjoyed it. These lyrics
(PDF) by Von Peter are amazing! A fan filmed the
show.
DICK: Kitties suck! I don't get it. If I
wanted to be amused, I'd
watch Comedy Central.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: These guys looked great. They put on a real
show. Their choreography, if you could call it that, was
simply amazing.
Pretty
Much Whooks Crowd:

TOM: Pretty Much Whooks is Sam Samerson, Wetz Willie, Stevil
Christopherson, and Jerome's Faze. Email stogie02@hotmail.com
These guys walk the fine line between music and noise.
Songs include Skintril Visit, Medley, Madness Jam, and Not
Psycho. They rock!
DICK: Pretty Much Whooks sucks! What kind of a name is this
for a band?
Oh.... And, death to America!
Hairy: These guys look like a typical local rock
band.
A
Jam Session
Crowd:

TOM: A fantastic jam session followed. First , Jen
Henderson (Mojo Filter)
and Walter Pollack did a couple of blues rock tunes. I
thought I was on Beale Street. Jen has a magnificent voice
that you've got to hear. Walter is one of the best guitar
players in the area. Then, Chris Beasley and Walter performed
one of the best acoustic guitar sessions I've heard. Chris is
moving to Dallas. We'll sure miss him. Then, Matt
stepped in for a few great tunes. Bob Camp joined for a while
on The Watchtower. Jen rejoined the group to finish one of
the best jams I've seen at The Camp. I'm at a loss for words.
These folks blew me away.
DICK: This jam session sucked! If I wanted Blues, I'd go to
Memphis.
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: I hate to admit it. But, I was so into the
music I forgot to look at the performers. They jammed!
1/2
of Roadside Memory
Crowd:

TOM: Dustin Sitzes, Ashley Irwin, and Cody Antill of Roadside Memory
finished the night with an impromptu session of some of the finest
music I've heard. Dustin borrowed Ashley's guitar and Cody
grabbed some bongos from his car. Dustin is probably the best
guitar player in Cape. Ashley voice is utterly
amazing! I've never seen anyone play the bongos like
Cody. They rocked! They
performed Come Closer and other original tunes before being joined by
Bob Camp and Matthew for a jam session that Dustin described as
"jackin' off." This is what open mic night is
about. You couldn't pay any amount of money to hear sounds
like this in Cape and it's free! When it was over, Bob Camp
said something that seemed to hint at these performers' future "I hope
we passed the audition."
DICK: 1/2 of Roadside Memory sucked! I missed Dustin's
electric guitar and Cody's set of drums. Why couldn't the
whole band play? (All of Roadside Memory will play at The Camp
Wednesday, June 1, and at Rude Dawg Pub on Thursday, June 2 and June 9.)
Oh.... And, death to America!
HAIRY: These folks just kind of fell into playing
tonight. They are so damn good they don't need to dress
up. But, I missed Ashley's mini skirt.
